Senior Credit Controller
Responsibilities:
· To maximise company sales by careful selection of new customers and maintenance of existing customer accounts and by minimising the risk of bad debts.
· Responsible for reducing 30 day long-term debt
· Create the credit strategy and policy. Continue to develop and implement enhancements where required
· To manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers before the balances become overdue to confirm payments
· Set and monitor credit limits
· Assist in developing and implementing a Direct Debit payment system
· Where required initiate proceedings to ensure outstanding debts are bought to a satisfactory conclusion
· Liaise with other departments and work in conjunction with them to fully understand the customer requirements and issues and also to gain insight in resolving specific customer queries.
· Create up to date and accurate reports for the Management Team.
· To keep the company up to date with new credit management procedures and techniques
Skills / Attributes Required
· Able to demonstrate experience within Credit Control
· Experience of providing Credit Control to organisations with a turnover in excess of £12m
· Computer literate with knowledge of Sage 50, Tam or similar
· Possess a good understanding of Word and Excel
· Excellent communication skills are essential
· Have or be progressing towards a professional accounting qualification through the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) or the Association of Credit Professionals (ACP)
Salary & Benefits
£25,000 to £27,000 per annum (depending on experience)
